BE SURE TO ALWAYS CHECK THE FUCKING BOX ✅
I’ll admit, my biggest battle each day is fighting the seemingly never-ending pile of tasks. The to-do list that never seems to end. It almost seems like the more things on the list, the less you accomplish because of the clutter, the feeling of being overwhelmed, and even hopelessness of ever being at your own peace.
Here’s the funny part. AFTER we do the things we have been putting off, we ALWAYS feel better about it. THEN we ask ourselves, “why didn’t I do this sooner? It feels great!” THEN the natural progression is to lie to ourselves and say “wow that was so easy, next time I’m just going to get it done right away because I remember how good it feels…” Well not so fast. Thats how we are with a lot of things. Going to the gym is a perfect example! Its hard to get there, we don’t want to go, it sounds like the worst idea in the world… until what? Until you’re actually at the gym, 25 minutes into your workout and you feel the PUMP and ENERGY. I want to come again tomorrow or maybe even later that evening! But then you don’t…
Going out to dinner or with friends and NOT drinking. It always feels good to go to bed sober. It feels even better to wake up the next day sober! You promise yourself you’ll do it more often because it feels SO much better, but guess what? Crown Apple & Cranberry PLEASE.
It’s never about being perfect, its about doing what you can to improve yourself and creating habits that make you slightly better than what you were yesterday.
Don’t beat yourself up over it. It will happen over and over and over again, you’ll likely never get over this mindset… But just remember the feeling of accomplishment, remember how much better it feels than the dread and regret.
GO DO THE SMALL THINGS FIRST. START ACCOMPLISHING. ALTHOUGH DOING IT MAY SEEM DREADFUL, IT WILL ALWAYS FEEL BETTER THAN PUTTING IT OFF. CHECK THE FUCKING BOX!
