Why do you love me so much?
This past week, I learned to not be afraid of asking you the big questions. You are the God of the universe and no question is ever too difficult or uncomfortable to ask You. So, I asked.. and each day You found ways to answer me differently.
This past week, the family we served received us with open arms and loved on us more than we deserved. Our pastor and his family migrated from their home state of Oaxaca to Mexicali fleeing persecution from the Catholic Church after being accused of dividing the community. A few months ago, he lost the building where his congregation met and days before we arrived, was told that no team would be able to come and serve his community. Yet he remained faithful.
Last minute, members of his congregation offered their home and backyard as a meeting place, they built a roof to give shade and a beautiful outhouse for everyone to use, and finally there we were, b l e s s e d as ever, to be called to serve at this little church.
And then You answered one of my questions: Why me? Because You have a plan and a vision. Because You are a God of details and intention. Because You are a God who sees every single one of Your children and You know their needs. Thank you for using me to keep hope alive!
This past week was so great and I miss my niños terribly. Their voices and songs imprinted in my heart forever. I’m humbled that You’ve called me to be Your servant 🇲🇽❤️
God, I thank you for the gift of friends and community who point out your gifts and call you out when you’re not living out your full potential. God, I thank you for beautiful friends and sisters You’ve gifted me.
And so this week I celebrate sisterhood, friendships, community, and God’s faithfulness.”
