Breakfast today was some cheerios and a piece of breas with cheese and cucumber. Gaining weight is something that is mentally really hard for me in recovery. It is necessary for recovery and it’s just something you got to learn to live with. Right now I’m having really hard time with my body image and I’m really insecure about my body. Everyday I’m trying to learn to like my body and accept the fact that it has to be different than what it was like when I was in the depths of my anorexia. I’m still a really far away from loving myself but I’m trying to improve in that every single day, because if I don’t love myself, how anyone else could? First of all I need to love myself! And you should love yourself! 💗

I have to confess. I don’t meal prep. Not like - here’s Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and so - on meals. 🍃 I do food prep as much as I can. Certain veggies are in constant demand and if they are ready to go then mixing up a new version of any dish is so much easier. The biggest thing I like to prep ahead ⭐️SAUCES. ⭐️Dips, dressings, sauce - whatever you call them. Having ready made, ready to top any dish sauce/dressing is a time saver. ⚡️ I soak 2 cups of raw (not roasted unsalted) cashews in water. I soak mine over night typically, if not I soak them for a couple hours. ✨So if I’ve used up my last sauce after the kids go to bed I’ll put two cups of cashew in a bowl of water and put it in the fridge. The next morning after breakfast when everyone is content I’ll start making different sauces from the cashew butter I blend up. Sweet, savory and a spicy option. Getting rid of the excuses to not choose a healthy meal is my goal. I’m very lazy that way. If I don’t plan and prep ahead I will definitely slip into a processed food binge. While sometimes it can be advantageous to take a break from tracking, if you’re wanting to give it a shot there’s lots of ways to do so while eating out:⠀ ⠀ 🍔Popular chain restaurants usually have the majority of their menu items in MFP so it can be as easy as finding it in the app, then logging it!⠀ ⠀ ⚖️Practice before the game! When you’re at home, take a mental screenshot of the portion sizes you’re weighing out. If you’re measuring out 4 oz of chicken or beef for yourself, take a look at the approximate size of the portion. Or you can even put what you believe to be 4oz on your plate, then weigh after a see how good your estimation was. ⠀ ⠀ ✊🏼Use your hand. Of course everyone is different but generally someone’s hand size matches their portion size needs. Generally, a palm size of = 3-4 oz, a thumb = tbsp, and a fist = 1 cup.⠀ ⠀ 📝Plan ahead! If you know where you’re going to eat, take a peak at the menu beforehand and try to pre-log the meal that looks good to you. Know that of course it’s not going to be perfect but you can maybe even look at a photo of the meal if possible and estimate as well as you can.⠀ ⠀ 🥥Plan on adding in an extra tbsp of olive oil or butter, as most restaurants will cook using those things.⠀ ⠀ 🔻Keep things simple. If you’re planning on tracking the meal, try to keep it easy and with minimal ingredients to stay as accurate as possible. ⠀ ⠀ There’s lots of reasons why you should and why you shouldn’t track. What I Eat In a Day🥑🥬🍚🍩 - - When it comes to diets, I don’t adhere to any particular one. There’s benefits to things like keto or intermittent fasting, but I find that mostly intuitive eating works best for me. Lately I have been tracking my macros to ensure I’m hitting my protein, carbs, and healthy fats for the day. 👍🏼 - - Here are my staple foods for each meal! Breakfast: oatmeal with nut butters, eggs with spinach and avocado, or a Dave’s killer bread bagel! And I always have my coffee with almond milk ☕️ Lunch: my favorite meal is a big salad(like you can see on my highlights) with tons of veggies, fruit, organic cheese, and a source of protein! Dinner: I try to make a concoction of a protein, carb, and healthy fat. For example, grilled chicken breast with a side of quinoa and a mixed salad with nuts & fruit on it. - - If you don’t follow a strict diet plan, I would just recommend eating balanced meals that are high in volume and nutrition so that you stay fuller for longer. Make sure not to deny foods that your body craves. You can have anything in moderation! I love dark chocolate and ice cream 🤪🤪
