Был сделан однозначный вывод о том, что употребление насыщенных жиров ведёт к повышению уровня холестерина в крови, и соответственно к отложения его в виде бляшек и так далее и тому подобное... Однако чем больше становилось известно о холестерине, его видах, свойствах и "поведении" в организме, тем больше становилось понятно, что Ансель Киз ошибся. Эта ошибка стоила жизни сотен тысяч людей, но сейчас не об этом.. Все слышали про плохой и хороший холестерин. На самом деле, холестерин — един. А плохим или хорошим его делает «свита». В нашей крови холестерин просто так в чистом виде не плавает. Он всегда находится соединении с жирами, белками и другими веществами — такие комплексы называются липопротеинами. И от состава этих веществ холестерин и бывает то плохим, то хорошим. Например, в составе липопротеинов низкой плотности (ЛНП) он плохой. Из таких комплексов холестерин и оседает на стенки сосудов, образуя так называемые холестериновые бляшки. А вот хороший холестерин содержится в липопротеинах высокой плотности (ЛВП). В таком виде он переносится из самих бляшек и из других органов на переработку в печень. То есть, ЛВП даже обладают профилактическим и чуть-чуть лечебным действием. Продолжение в комментарии ⤵️

A lazy day with my lunch today and back to the Fit Kitchen meals, purely for ease and convenience. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with microwaveable meals if you know what you’re looking for. Today’s go to was this Spanish Chicken and Butterbean Stew. All it takes is 4 mins to nuke in the microwave and I have a nice and filling low calorie, high protein meal. It’s only 287 calories with a pretty decent protein content of 25g. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the ginger, garlic powder, curry powder, cumin, coriander, flour, cornstarch, club soda, salt, and pepper. Let stand for 5 minutes. In the meantime, process the yogurt, lemon juice, and cilantro in a food processor; season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a serving platter. Working in batches, fry the cauliflower piece until crisp and golden brown, about 4 minutes total. Remove from oil using a spider or slotted spoon and transfer to a wire rack set over a baking tray lined with paper towels. Season lightly with salt. Serve cauliflower pieces with yogurt sauce. Was needing a dose of caramelized banana this morning. It just makes my morning better 🥰. As a young adult, I never ate banana thinking it was too high in sugar. And now I think “how could I have deprived myself of this delicious fruit for so long” 😂? Yes, banana is higher in sugar than let’s say berries. But it’s still a fruit and because it contains fibre, the sugar is absorbed more slowly than a non fibre sugary food. It also contains minerals (potassium) and vitamins therefore it is healthy! Now, it doesn’t mean I eat huge amounts of it, I’ll often combine with other fruit (in this photo, blueberries), and also, eating it as featured here with some nut butter which contains good fats helps your blood sugar stay more stable. And yes, cooking it makes it even sweeter!! And that’s why I love caramelizing my banana with either a little butter or coconut oil and no sugar at all. Try it, you will see how sweet banana can naturally be 😉. Happy Thursday 😊. * * Ce matin j’avais besoin d’une dose de bananes caramélisées 😍. Ça rend n’importe quel matin plus agréable 😋. Lorsque j’étais plus jeune, je ne mangeais pas de bananes pensant que c’était trop de sucre. Maintenant, je me demande pourquoi je me suis privée de ce délicieux fruit pendant si longtemps 😂( et je compense 😂). Oui, les bananes contiennent plus de sucre que d’autres fruits tels que les baies (fraises, bleuets, framboises), mais elles contiennent aussi des fibres alors l’absorption du sucre se fait plus lentement que si l’on mange un aliment sucré dépourvu de fibres. Et la banane est un fruit qui contient également du potassium, de la vitamine B6 et de la vitamine C. Elle a des bienfaits en plus d’être délicieuse! Ça ne veut pas dire que j’en mange des quantités industrielles et j’aime bien la combiner avec du beurre de noix (comme dans la photo) qui est source de bon gras et qui permet de stabiliser la glycémie pour de l’énergie à long terme 😊. Et lorsque je caramélise mes bananes, je n’ajoute aucun sucre puisqu’elle est déjà naturellement sucrée. Un peu de beurre ou huile de noix de coco suffit 😉. Snacks are packed & ready to go for my weekend trip to Brooklyn, NY for one of three in person workshops for Nutrition Therapy Practitioner School!! It’s been a ton of work & I have learned so much so far and this is my first time traveling alone. I won’t know anyone which is scary but also exciting and a great opportunity to grow. Whenever fear starts to creep in, I feel it and then shift to a more productive perspective. It’s essential to bring nutritious snacks & stay hydrated when traveling. It helps keep stress low, blood sugar steady and helps me feel good overall. Being away from the normal routine is going to throw you off physically & mentally but being nutritionally prepared as possible keeps me feeling good.
