[24.04.19] Etiquetas 🚫. Hace más de un año comencé a llevar una dieta vegetariana (sin carnes, pescado ni mariscos), hace un par de meses noté que eso empezó a definirme y comencé a sentir rechazo. Comencé a notar que cuando uno mismo se impone una etiqueta la gente te exige muchas cosas y comportamientos (a veces hasta más de lo que ellos mismos hacen 👀), muchísimas cosas con las que uno no puede cumplir siempre. Comienzas a sentir una presión externa para hacer las cosas de una forma porque sino, está mal, porque sino empiezan los juicios y las críticas. He visto tantas cosas este último tiempo en RRSS que sinceramente me asusta el tema de las etiquetas, al final siento que nunca es suficiente: si eres vegetariana, por qué no eres vegana? Si eres vegana, por qué no eres cruelty free? Si eres cruelty free, por qué no reciclas? Y así ... interminable. Personalmente creo todos merecemos sentirnos tranquilos y en paz con las cosas que hacemos y eso para mi se traduce en no definirme de ninguna forma, porque cada uno de nosotros es un universo inmenso y creo que sería una forma de limitarnos el tratar de simplificar nuestra forma de vivir. Con esto no quiero decir que llevar una dieta veggie o vegana o cualquiera sea imposible, sólo digo que al menos a mi eso no me funciona simplemente porque el día de mañana no quiero sentir culpa ni mucho menos miedo al que dirán si es que no cumplo con esos “estándares”. Vivimos con tantas presiones, que agregar una más me parece innecesario. Yo ante todo decido cuidarme a mi misma, trabajo constantemente por mi bienestar físico, emocional y espiritual, porque si no estamos bien nosotros ¿cómo podemos ayudar al resto?. Por último, creo que la forma de crear conciencia siempre tiene que ser en base al amor y no al odio, sino el resultado es todoooo lo contrario 🙌🏻. Más amor, menos juicios 🍀. I had a conversation with a friend recently and we spoke about addiction, and how her partner had been talking about eating better, quitting cigarettes and drinking less alcohol for the last 6 months... but nothing changed. . . And I found myself reflecting, it's not unusual to say we're going to do something and never end up doing it... . . I've done it and I can think of a time where everyone in my life has to. . . And it's funny because sometimes the situation isn't painful enough to cause us the motivation to change. . . 'I hate my job' and I'm perpetually unhappy but it's not bad enough to put in the energy to change...CBF, does that sound familiar? . . Suffering is in our comfort zones, it's familiar... Change on the other hand? That's unknown and the unknown is scary. . . If you lost your job and had no way of supporting yourself, you'd dam well find another way to meet your basic needs. . . But when it comes to things we know are good for us, it's less urgent. . . And it's pretty easy to settle for no change. Numb yourself out, binge watch Netflix, drink another glass of wine, buy some takeout and tell yourself you don't know why you feel like shit... . . Change is hard, it means you have to do things differently and what if you put all this energy into it and it doesn't work? . . But what's the cost of doing nothing? In 5, 10, 15 years, if you didn't change would you resent yourself? Do you think you would be satisfied? . . It's easy to get lost in the day to day trivial-ness of life... Il y a 7 ans.... je réussissais enfin à tenir un plan alimentaire pour plus que 3 jours de toutes les autres fois où j'avais essayé (pour vrai) C'est vraiment là où tout a commencé pour moi... toujours plus strict d'année en année. You don’t have to have it all together, you just have to have the courage to fail forward. • • When I think back to the time I started my fitness journey, I was really out of shape. I was tired all the time, had low energy levels, and was over weight. I finally decided enough was enough. Starting out it was hard. Trying to workout every day was not easy, and I’m going to be completely honest, I didn’t. I tried to follow the workout schedule and eat according to the meal plan, but I didn’t all the time. I wondered why I wasn’t see the results I had hope to see...and now I know why! • • Fast forward to now, I have a way better understanding of the nutrition plans and workouts programs. I am way more consistent with my workouts and I follow an 80/20 lifestyle because we all need balance in our lives. En cette fin de session le stress est à son pic, la fatigue prends le dessus, le temps est compté et il est si facile de se dire qu’on à pas le temps de s’entraîner, de cuisiner et prendre du temps pour soi. Pour avoir connu les fins de sessions sans entraînement, frustrée, fatiguée, tendue, stressée, impatiente, à manger plein de fast food parce que je n’avais pas le temps de cuisiner au lieu de carburer mon corps de nourriture saine qui va me donner les nutriments que j’ai besoin pour toute cette étude que j’avais à faire. Maintenant j’ai mon équilibre. Je m’entraînes à chaque jour pour évacuer mon stress, pour faire le vide dans ma tête et prendre ce temps pour prendre soin de moi. This Sweet Potato, Quinoa and Kale Salad was so good 😊 I threw it together for Easter dinner since there typically are not many meat/dairy free options. It was very light, but super flavorful! * Cool 1 cup of quinoa. Cube and sauté sweet potato with olive oil, salt and paprika. Once cooked, add a tablespoon of maple syrup. Add 3 cups of chopped kale to pan and sauté until wilted. Add quinoa to pan and mix until blended. Add 1 cup chopped red onion and perils from one pomegranate. For the sauce - I just added some olive oil and roughly a quarter cup of orange juice. I would also recommend adding a can of beans for extra protein. * Eat warm or cold and is great for leftovers! * 🌱
